Rossborough Financial Services Limited (RFSL) is an independent provider of financial services. The company was established in 1984 and has offices in Jersey and Guernsey. Perspective Private Wealth is a registered business name of RFSL in Jersey.

Nature of Services

RFSL provides advice and services on pensions, investments, financial protection insurance. Investment services are provided on an advisory basis. We do not provide tax or legal advice, trustee or nominee services.

Regulation

RFSL is regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission under the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 and by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission under The Insurance Managers and Insurance Intermediaries (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2002 and The Protection of Investors (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law1987.

Client Funds

RFSL is regulated to hold client funds for the purpose of Jersey Retirement Trust Schemes and Pension Drawdown arrangements only. For all other financial services business RFSL is not regulated to hold client funds.

Market Security

We assess the financial soundness of proposed product providers we recommend using a range of information sources, including that produced by recognised rating agencies. However, we do not guarantee the solvency of any product provider that we may recommend to you.

The ultimate decision on the suitability of recommendations rests with you and if you have any concerns we will be pleased to discuss them with you.

Client Instructions

Client instructions to RFSL must be given in writing and RFSL reserves the right not to act if RFSL is not satisfied as to the source and validity of any such instructions. We conduct our business in English language only.

Your duty to give information to Product Providers

Our financial advice is based on the information provided by you to RFSL and third party product providers.

You must ensure that all such information is complete and accurate and that you have disclosed any facts, which may influence RFSL’s advice or product provider’s decision to provide cover or terms offered.

You are responsible for all answers or statements on application forms, claim forms or other material documents and, in the case of insurance arrangements, failure to disclose material information may invalidate your cover and could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid.

Your duty to understand your policy or investment documents

It is imperative that you read and fully understand the contents of insurance policies, pension or investment documents, and other correspondence you receive from us or directly from product providers.

Having read such documents we will clarify any questions you may have regarding their contents.

RFSL will not accept any liability arising from a client’s failure to read and understand the contents of policies, pension or investment documents or any other correspondence issued by RFSL.

Fees and commissions

For life insurance, critical illness, income protection cover and annuity arrangements, RFSL will receive commission from the product provider of the policy arranged on your behalf.

The detail of our remuneration is included in the charging structure of your policy and will be shown in the quotations provided to you.

All charges will be fully disclosed by RFSL. For pension and investment arrangements RFSL will be remunerated on a fee basis.

Full details of RFSL’s fees and how these are paid will be provided before entering into any arrangements.

Conflicts of Interest

Confidentiality/Data Protection

All personal information about you will be treated as private and confidential (even when you are no longer a client) except where the disclosure is made at your request, with your consent, in relation to arranging your insurance or investment or where we are required to do so by Law.

Some or all of the information you supply to us in connection with your pension, insurance or investment proposal will be held electronically and may be passed to insurance companies or investment product providers in the normal course of business.

Under current Jersey and Guernsey data protection regulations, you have the right of access to personal information about you that is held by RFSL. If you have any questions in this regard please write to the Managing Director. Please refer to our privacy policy at www.rossboroughfinancial.co.uk

Termination

The client has the right to immediately terminate their relationship with RFSL at any time subject to notification in writing.

Complaints

It is RFSL’s intention to provide the highest level of advice and service at all times. If, however, you have reason to make a complaint we maintain formal procedures for handling complaints fairly and promptly. In the first instance, you should contact us in writing:-

In the event of a complaint, our procedure is that:-

  • Your complaint will be acknowledged within 5 business days.
  • A full written response to your complaint will be sent to you within 10 business days from the date of the acknowledgment letter.

If you are not satisfied with the final response provided by RFSL you can refer your complaint to the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman (CIFO). Full details of how to contact CIFO will be provided to you with your complaint response.
